Spring Concerts Surprised and Delighted Listeners

In April, Upper Valley Baroque performed a relatively unknown work, Handel’s L’Allegro, Il Penseroso ed Il Moderato, with featured soprano Amanda Forsythe.  Many audience members expressed great enthusiasm for this work and appreciation for being introduced to it.

In May, guest organist James Welch offered “A Bach Family Affair,” with pieces by J.S. Bach and his circle played on the CCDC organ.  In addition to his virtuosic playing, James included lively narrative and a duet with his niece (a cellist who is a freshman at Dartmouth).
