To have such quality of music and also such collegiality and a palpable sense of joy in making music is a huge gift to the wider community.

Educational goals

Upper Valley Baroque’s mission is to create transformative experiences with audiences, performers, and learners through Baroque and Early Music.

Through educational programs, interactions, and “moments”, UVB strives to connect people of all ages and interests to the joy of discovery as listeners and participants in great music performed live.

Pre-concert sessions

Leading up to each major concert, a variety of talks and classes will provide insight and prepare learners to fully enjoy the performance. In partnership with Upper Valley Music Center, musicologist and educator Mark Nelson offers “Preparing to Hear Masterworks” for selected programs, providing insight into “what makes the music tick”.

Youth opportunities

Upper Valley Baroque offers free concert tickets to students.  UVB will collaborate with schools in the region to offer opportunities to hear and interact with UVB’s professional musicians, tailored to age level and schedule.

Community engagement

Upper Valley Baroque seeks to connect community groups and neighborhoods to great music performed live. Opportunities take a variety of forms, including musical collaborations, on-site programs, and special ticket offers.
