Unknown Measures presents a newly discovered cello sonata by Alessandro Scarlatti in observance of his 300th commemorative year, along with a sonata newly attributed to Domenico Gabrielli, father of the baroque cello repertoire. The cello sonatas are complemented by gems of the Italian baroque for violin, cello, harpsichord, and lute.

One of the most prolific composers of the Baroque era, Vivaldi transformed sonnets about The Four Seasons into vivid musical colors. This program also features works for strings and soprano, including his stunning In fuore performed by the “exemplary, impassioned” Nola Richardson.
